Accepted Payment Methods & Payment Flow

Tripolo uses secure in-app payments to protect your information and ensure a smooth booking experience. All payments must be completed through the Tripolo App to receive full safety and support coverage. 


Accepted Payment Methods 

During Early Access, Tripolo currently supports: 

  • Credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) 

  • Debit cards that allow online payments 

We plan to expand payment options in future updates, but at this stage of Early Access, a credit or debit card is required to complete a booking. 

External payment methods—such as cash, direct bank transfers, or payments through third-party apps—are not supported and are not protected by Tripolo’s policies. 

 

How the payment process works 

1. Pay the guide’s service fee to confirm your booking 

The price shown in the app reflects the guide’s service fee. You will be charged this amount when you book. 

2. Tripolo securely holds your payment 

After payment, your funds are securely held by Tripolo until your service is completed. This ensures guides do not receive payment early and protects you if issues arise. 

3. Guide receives payment after the service is completed 

Once your trip is finished, the service fee is released to the guide. If you experience any issues during your visit, notify Tripolo Support before the payment is finalized so we can assist. 

4. Additional expenses are paid separately during your trip 

Costs such as entrance tickets, meals, public transportation, or activity fees are not included in the guide’s service fee. These expenses are paid directly by you at the time they occur, giving you flexibility in choosing what to do. 

 

Why Tripolo holds your funds 

Holding your payment until after the service: 

  • Protects you from early or unauthorized charges 

  • Ensures guides deliver the service as expected 

  • Allows Tripolo to assist fairly if issues arise 

  • Creates a safer, more reliable experience for both travelers and guides
