Tripolo’s in-app messaging is the safest and most reliable way to communicate with your guide. Keeping all communication within the Tripolo App helps protect your privacy, ensures accurate planning, and allows Tripolo to support you if something unexpected happens. 

 

1. Why you should use in-app messaging 

Protects your privacy 

Your personal contact information—such as your phone number or email—is not shared with guides when you use in-app messaging. 

Creates a secure record 

Tripolo may review message history to assist with support cases or safety concerns. This helps resolve issues quickly and fairly. 

Reduces the risk of scams 

Keeping communication in-app helps ensure that: 

  • Guides do not ask you to pay outside the platform 

  • You receive accurate and verified information 

  • Tripolo can step in if suspicious activity occurs 

Supports better planning 

You and your guide can share: 

  • Pickup time and location 

  • Places you want to visit 

  • Special needs or accessibility considerations 

  • Questions before booking 

All in one organized place. 

 

2. How to use in-app messaging 

  1. Open the guide’s profile 

  2. Tap Message 

  3. Send your questions or trip details 

  4. View replies directly in your chat inbox 

You can message guides before and after booking. 

 

3. What not to do 

To stay protected, avoid

  • Sharing your personal phone number or email before meeting 

  • Communicating through third-party apps 

  • Sending payments or deposits outside the Tripolo App 

  • Clicking unfamiliar links sent outside the app 

These behaviors reduce Tripolo’s ability to support you if something goes wrong. 

 

4. During your trip 

Once you meet your guide in person, communicate however is most convenient for you. 

However: 

  • Keep sensitive information private 

  • Continue using the Tripolo App to report any concerns 

  • Notify your guide or Tripolo Support if you feel unsafe or need help 

 

5. If you experience a messaging issue 

If messages are not sent or received correctly: 

  • Check your internet connection 

  • Try refreshing the app 

  • Contact Tripolo Support if the issue continues
