Tripolo is designed to help you explore with confidence, but your awareness and preparation also play an important role in ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience. Here are key guidelines to help you travel safely with your guide in China.
1. Meet your guide in a public place
Always meet your guide at a public, agreed-upon location such as a hotel lobby, train station, or popular landmark. This ensures a smooth and safe start to your day.
2. Keep communication in the Tripolo App
Use Tripolo’s in-app messaging for all communication before meeting your guide. This protects your privacy and ensures Tripolo can assist if needed.
Once you are with your guide in person, communicate directly as needed throughout the day.
3. Follow your itinerary and stay aware
Your guide will help manage your itinerary and adjust plans when needed. At the same time:
Stay aware of your surroundings
Keep your belongings secure
Follow local laws and cultural practices
Ask questions if you need clarification
Your guide can assist with navigation, cultural insights, and safety context.
4. Share special needs or concerns early
Inform your guide ahead of time about:
Accessibility needs
Dietary restrictions
Mobility concerns
Any specific safety considerations
This helps your guide plan appropriately.
5. Handling transportation safely
Whether traveling by metro, taxi, or on foot:
Follow your guide’s instructions
Stay close in crowded areas
Keep valuables secured
Confirm locations if separated
If your guide provides private transportation, it will be listed in their profile.
6. Payments and activity costs
Never pay a guide directly outside the Tripolo App. All guide-related payments must go through Tripolo for your protection.
Activity costs like tickets, meals, or transportation fares should be paid directly by you at the time they occur.
7. If something feels unsafe
If anything during your trip feels unsafe or uncomfortable:
Raise the concern to your guide
Pause the activity
Move to a safer or more public area
Contact Tripolo Support through the app
For emergencies, contact local authorities first, then notify Tripolo Support once you are able.
8. Keep important information accessible
Make sure you have:
Your hotel address
Emergency contacts
Your phone and portable charger if needed
Identification (secured when not needed)
Your guide can assist with translation, directions, or communication if needed.
9. After your trip
If you experienced any issues or concerns, report them to Tripolo through:
Your review, or
The Support feature in the app
Your feedback helps keep the Tripolo community safe and reliable.
