Tripolo is designed to provide a safe and trustworthy experience, but staying aware and recognizing potential risks helps protect you even further. Most guides and travelers engage respectfully, but here are key reminders to help you avoid unsafe or suspicious situations.
1. Always book and pay through Tripolo
All guide-related payments must be completed within the Tripolo App. This protects you from:
Overcharging
Fraudulent requests
Loss of refund eligibility
Unverified transactions
If anyone asks you to pay outside the app, decline the request and report it to Tripolo Support.
2. Keep communication in the Tripolo App
Before meeting your guide, all communication should stay in-app. This helps protect your privacy and ensures Tripolo can assist if something goes wrong.
Avoid:
Sharing your phone number or personal email
Using external messaging apps
Clicking links sent outside the app
Tripolo may review in-app messages to support you if needed.
3. Be cautious of unusual requests
Report the following scenarios immediately:
Requests for upfront payments outside the Tripolo App
Offers to “avoid fees” by paying in cash or through third-party apps
Messages that seem inconsistent, high-pressure, or misleading
Requests for sensitive personal information
Guides should follow Tripolo’s standards and communicate clearly and professionally.
4. Never send money for activity tickets to your guide
Activity-related costs (such as entrance tickets, meals, or transportation fares) should be paid directly by you at the time they occur. Guides may advise you on how to make reservations but should not request money to purchase tickets on your behalf.
If someone asks for this, treat it as a red flag and contact Support.
5. Trust your instincts
If something feels off:
Pause the conversation
Do not share additional information
Do not send any payments
Contact Tripolo Support to report the concern
Your comfort and safety come first.
6. What Tripolo will never do
Tripolo will never:
Ask for your password
Ask you to send payments outside the app
Request banking details through messaging apps or email
Contact you from unofficial channels
If you receive a message claiming to be from Tripolo that looks suspicious, report it through the app.
7. If you suspect a scam
If you think you’ve encountered fraudulent behavior:
Stop communication
Do not send any money or personal details
Report the issue to Tripolo Support immediately through the app
Tripolo will investigate and take appropriate action to protect you and the community.
